After what seems like forever, all the little advent calendar decorations are at last done. All 120 of them! The picture above shows the full range and what will go into each calendar. I made a few changes from last year -no bunting this time as it was just too labour intensive- and changed the colour scheme on the angel.
No particular reason, I just felt like it! She was purple and yellow last year but is a more angelic white this time round. Although I hope the three little roses keep a kind of folk edge to her.
I also did Christmas puddings this year. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of them last time, and despite my vehemently anti-Christmas mood I couldn’t help but love them, they are just so round and cute!
Next up is calculating how much green felt to buy for the 5 trees, working out the bias binding and drawing and cutting out all of the little numbers for the pockets, which is very fiddly. I am still determined to get them done pre-baby but with the current all-round family sleeplessness of Home Farm Cottage (orchestrated primarily by the toddler but also by pregnancy-related night sojourns to the loo) sewing productivity levels are quite low!

Hello, I know it is ridiculous to think of christmas now, but I love your things so much I have to ask – how much are you selling them for when completed???
Oh thank you! I know, Christmas, ugh! I’m not enjoying my super-organisation (or attempts thereof).
The advent calendars are £65, and I have three left after the two commissioned ones- fabric-wise one of the commissions is the tiny floral but the other client hasn’t decided yet on fabric. So at the moment I have a tiny floral, a spotty, a dala horse and a green snowflake (which will have red pockets so will look a bit different)
If you scroll down I posted a picture of the fabrics a wee while ago.
Back to toddler taming…!
It’s me again! I would very much like to properly consider buying one of your advent calendars, but I’m not 100% sure what the finished article is/looks like! Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you!! I think this would make a wonderful family tradition/heirloom.
Hello! Thanks for your enquiry- I’ll post a link to the finished advent calendars from last year, plus a link to the fabric choices this year (I’m sure you’ll appreciate I needed a wee change of fabric to keep it all exciting and fresh!)
Love all the changes and additions..esp the angel! x
