Oooh the excitement and relief- all four fabric advent calendars are finished, done, dusted, ready to sell. The tedium of bias binding them nearly killed me but I think the results have been worthwhile. I reckon I’ve spent about 16 hours per calendar, all in fits and starts over a matter of weeks of course- toddlers are not very amenable to quiet sewing.
I do think the marbled purple one is my favourite, but it’s difficult to decide! Sadly the weather was lovely and sunny yesterday and gloomy mist today, so they have come out rather dully. It was windy too and a couple of decorations made a bid for freedom in the long grass, but they were thwarted.
So it’s more bunting and tea cosies next. I want to do two Christmassy ones and two year-round ones, more if I have time and they are easily made. This weekend I will be heading beyond Ballater to pick up some rare breed Soay sheep’s wool to felt- a new venture for me! I’ll be sure to post lots of photos.
I know, I know, he’s nothing to do with Christmas, felt or crafting… but I did make him!
