Another absence due to being away, at a family christening this time in the north of England. It was so nice to see family and friends, but we are also very happy to be back home- Sol is not as portable as he used to be!
We arrived back at midnight to a temperature of just 1 degree C- we’d left the radiator on low in Sol’s room but the rest of the house was baltic! Fire lit first thing in the morning and a nice hot water bottle in bed. Brrr. It has since become a good deal milder and the sun is shining and the wind blowing today. A good drying day again and a large pile of damp washing awaits the washing line.
I didn’t manage to achieve very much sewing whilst away, but I did finish the larger robin wreath, with bows this time instead of holly leaves. Excuse the filthy window, ‘we live on a farm’ is my (non) cleaning mantra!
So you get an idea of scale, here it is in the kitchen:
Next up are some Christmas stockings I think, as I have acquired (thank you Grandma) lots of lovely deep red felt. And I feel like doing some more embroidery, as it is so strong and graphic, and like doodling with thread!
Hope you like the new look of my blog- I really liked my previous theme as it was really simple- but it was so simple I couldn’t put my new logo on it, so it’s all change! Let me know what you think of the new surroundings and my little badger logo, very kindly designed by my friend Bridget. Thank you Bridget! x
