I have been very lucky to have been given a good bit of Liberty fabric, Tana Lawn, by my grandmother, who bought it and then just couldn’t bear to take scissors to it for about 20 years! It is so expensive (from £19.95 per metre) and so beautiful it’s difficult to know quite what to do with it. I was on the Purl Bee, an absolutely drool-worthy blog and shop in the USA which has loads of free tutorials, patterns and lovely ideas. This mini quilt popped up and I must say I do love it! It uses fusible interfacing and a machine but you could just as easily appliqué circles in the old fashioned way, with a bit of practice. It just looks so fresh and pretty and I love that you could make it any size you like. And it’d be a great way to show off some of that precious fabric.
