After my post about the gorgeous little owl hat my husband’s cousin knitted for the newest family arrival, I was delighted to find in the post today a Solomon-sized version! I took the photos in a bit of a rush on the way out to the shop but managed to get all angles!
It has pointy corners (like owl ears) and is just so lovely and soft (baby alpaca, no less).
It’s beautifully made and Sol just loves it, he wanted to show me the owl immediately!
As you can see, he is almost as pleased as his mother- thank you Polly!
Update- Last night I was sewing in the living room and Oli was outside getting some logs for the fire when I heard tawny owls calling- I hear them at night if Sol wakes up but they sounded really close. I went outside and there was one in the giant ash tree opposite the house, calling to about two others in the adjacent field. We stood at the bottom of the tree trying to peer up into the darkness- we caught a glimpse of it flying to another branch. I’ve never been so close to a wild owl before and it seemed utterly appropriate after quite an owly day!
