I am currently looking for some quilty inspiration and stumbled upon the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival and am still picking my jaw up off the floor. These are from 2009. There can be no doubt as to the artistry of these pieces of work- not so much blankets as textile art. Breathtaking. The above is ‘A Forest of the Kana Kana’ by Yoko Sekita, and I just love the fairytale woodland vibe:

Now back to advent calendars… but I will be thinking about quilts!
