Well no one ever said hand quilting was a quick craft. Satisfying, yes, meditative, certainly, cripplingly slow… it can be. I would love to get a good few hours’ run at it (like I did last December with only one little chap to look after and a very indulgent grandmother on the scene) but that just doesn’t happen at the moment! Nevertheless, the swallow quilt creeps on and I’m beginning to get a feel for what it’ll look like in the end.
Quite a simple looking quilt, and modern I hope, with some really old techniques (the hexagon patchwork wings and wholecloth quilting) that tie it back to the long history of quilting. The little hexagons are taking the longest, I’m so glad I only have the pink ones left!
