This time of year is a bit frustrating for blogging- I am making, sewing and planning, but can share very little of it for fear of discovery by the intended recipients! I’m afraid I am not as organised (or as creative) as one well known craft and lifestyle blogger out there who uses last year’s crafted gifts for her Christmassy blog posts. But I can share this one- a board for photos, cards, notes, anything- I made last night for my grandmother. After a quick talk-through with a friend who’s made a couple, as well as borrowing the staple gun I needed, I tackled it last night and finished it off this morning. (I could have finished it last night but the hammer was in the shed and it was too cold and late to venture out)
I used teal grosgrain ribbon and some of my grandma’s Liberty Lawn fabric, which I know she’ll like because she chose it originally!
I must admit to feeling rather chuffed with this: it was satisfying mostly because it was so quick. I need a few easy and fast projects to keep me going in the face of The Quilt…
Hope she likes it. And also that no one decides to suddenly show her the blog on their phone or laptop.
Also in the spirit of the season, we had the first snowfall last night. Nothing compared to last year’s ski chalet-like quantities, but enough to feel exciting, and to sledge in, with a bit of effort!
