It has been a busy couple of weeks as we all settle back into our normal, non-summer holiday routines. When six o’clock takes on an almost magical quality and house jobs go back to being squeezed into evenings and weekends. But in between all the ebbing and flowing of family life, I’ve managed to finish off these bright little swallows on their lines- just before their real counterparts swoop their last over Scottish skies and set south to Africa.
Indeed it’s this dual citizenship of swallows that prompted me to use them again for the baby recipient of the quilt who will be half Kenyan and half English, residing in Scotland! Hence also the bright colours. Not quite neon, but hopefully evocative of sunny warmth. Anyway, I really like it- hope you do too.
