Aided by some solitary time on a train (I know: amazing) I have finished off the adult owl hat I was commissioned to knit.
After rejecting the online pattern due to very waffly instructions with some ramblings about how jumbled the designers brain was and how she’d probably made mistakes, I went solo and with the aid of The Reader’s Digest Complete Guide to Needlework (an invaluable retro tome) I managed to ‘design’ a hat.
It has a picot hem (just fancied it) and a band of seven owls, followed by some standard hat-ness.
But I’m rather pleased with it and hope the recipient is, too. Here it is, modelled by Sol- I can assure you not only is it loose on him, he is well-blessed in the head department and it’s definitely big enough for the adult woman it is intended for!
