As usual, a silent blog assures that things are actually rather busy- crafting is still happening, of course (I am knitting like a woman possessed, trying to finish a scarf which I made more time consuming than it needed to be) but it’s the house that is demanding our attention most at the moment.
Taking the fullest advantage of the holidays, the time, the warmth and the long, light evenings, we have lifted a paintbrush or two;
Oli has stripped out the room which will one day be our sitting room, and as I type is lime pointing the roof ridge. It hasn’t all been work without play though, and a trip to the local agricultural fair
and a swim in the Don (really)
as well as planned bike rides and wild raspberry picking excursions all herald the sweet soul warming days of summer. When it’s this good, winter not only seems so far away, but also loses some of its dreary portent… it’s truly heavenly.
